Risk Management in Markets Beyond the EU

Britain is leaving the EU. Whatever the outcome of the Brexit negotiations, business with our traditional partners in Europe will never be quite the same. Companies therefore have a strong incentive to explore new emerging markets.

At the same, these same high-growth markets have a high level of risk, and exporters need to build a risk management programme into their go-to-market strategies. This programme needs to consider issues like political and geopolitical risk, the business culture in the market and where you need to draw the line in relation to gifts or bribes, and economic risks around tariffs, quotas and foreign exchange.

In this one-hour webinar, Brook Horowitz (CEO at IBLF Global) is joined by John Burbidge-King (Interchange Solutions) and Gary Wingrove (Bibby Financial Services) to explore these issues and to help new exporters ask the right questions when entering into emerging markets.

The webinar also introduces the key aspects of the Institute’s ‘Turning Risk into Opportunity in Emerging Markets’ training course, which Brook delivers. For more information about the course, please visit: https://www.export.org.uk/page/EmergingMarkets

During the webinar, Brook and John mentioned the following useful resources for assessing risk in markets around the world:
