Border Operating Model – the new timeline for import controls
Under the Border Operating Model published by the government last year, new controls for imports into the UK from the EU are being introduced in three phases.
The second and third of these phases were due to come in on 1 April and 1 July this year but the government has postponed new checks till 1 October 2021, 1 January 2022 and March 2022.
