Question

What do we need to distribute frozen products and flour to Russia

This question was asked as part of our webinar on Russia which can be found at:

Answer

We are heavily engaged in the frozen food business at the moment. First check our list of Russian counter sanctions to make sure that you are free to export. http://www.volgatrader.com/food-and-farming.html

If your products are not sanctioned you have two choices. Find an importer/distributor or sell direct to the supermarkets. Frozen food warehousing capacity is in relatively short supply so the importer/distributors tend to operate a complex monopsony. Supermarket buyers defend themselves well against speculative enquiries from hopeful vendors. You will, for example, have to work in Russian. The top chains are all bigger than Tesco’s UK operations. Do you have the capacity to supply?
