There is a lot of opportunity for business consulting and coaching but also lots of competition in the region, so you really need to define and refine your offering to compete with local and regional providers. A lot of these services are also free of charge, say, by chambers of commerce, so you need to also add value for businesses to pay you. Branding and marketing are key, too. However, we’ve known of companies doing well through personal connections. It wouldn’t be my first choice of an export market for consultancy services, particularly if you don’t speak fluent Spanish and/or Portuguese. I’d really ask myself what it is that I have to offer that local coaches/consultants are not offering already…
