We would like to export fresh goat meat to the EU. Is this possible

Question

We are an on farm based meat cutting business, and would like to grow our business. We have a quality fresh (or frozen) goat meat, butchered and packed for the customer that we would to export to the EU, France & Spain being large goat meat eaters. Where do we start?

Answer

Hi Tim Dobson,

If you are seriously considering exporting chilled meats to France and Spain you will need to first start off by applying for an ‘Export Health Certificate’ (EHC) which can be accessed from Defra.

If you would require any further assistance with locating possible buyers in EU market, you are welcome to contact me on the details below.

Answer

No Export Health Certification paperwork is needed to move products for human consumption within the EU, however, we always advise exporters to check with importing countries to confirm what is needed for your commodity to gain access to the country.

Answer

Hello Tim,

We would be delighted to assist with the shipping of your products to the EU. We work with a number of small farms in the UK, who sell anything from goat meat to sheep skin to pumpkins. If you’d like to speak to a member of our team, we would be happy to speak to our logistics partners to find out the restrictions on your products and how they can be shipped to the destinations of your choice eg. France and Spain. With a wide variety of services available to us, I’m confident we’ll be able to find you a cost-effective shipping solution for your meat.

You can call us on 01292 310 510 or email us: [email protected]. We look forward to working with you Tim.

Kind regards,
