Sanctions on exports to and payments received from Libya
Question
Can anyone advise on sanctions that are currently in place on exports to Libya?
Likewise, I understand that some Banks will not accept payments from Libya. Can anybody provide information on any financial sanctions that are currently in place and financial institutions that are accepting payments from Libya?

Answer
Hi Kieran,
Cambridge Mercantile can both make payments to Libya and receive them from Libyan banks without problems. We need some supporting documentation for payments to the country, but other than that, we are happy to help. Please feel free to pass on my details.
Cheers,
Dino
Answer
Information on the Customs requirements for exporting is given in HMRC Public Notice 275. All notices can be found on our website www.hmrc.gov.uk under Quick Links > Library > Official Statistics – Publications – Notices, Info Sheets & Other Reference Materials > Import, Export & International Trade. The Public Notices are in numerical order.
I would also suggest that you contact the Department for Business Innovations and Skills (BIS) to ascertain if there are any export restrictions on such items.
