Linseeds/flax seeds and China – export license issue
Question
I have been warned that there is a list of prohibited substances/ingredients for import into China and I have been told separately that linseeds are on it. Which seems odd.
Is there a 100% reliable English version of this list?
I have found sites that seem to be official, but I don’t know if they are also notoriously incorrect.
Answer
Sean,
The short answer is that there are no definitive lists of these ingredients as the standards are being revised and updated as we speak. Some of the law firms have their own translations of the current lists but would probably want some payment.
Linseed/flax seeds is indeed not allowed as it is regarded as a medicinal ingredient in China.
