Importing from outside the EU for export from UK
Question
Hello,
I have been looking extensively online and I can’t seem to pinpoint the information I’m looking for.
I’m looking to import spices from India to the UK, and then intend to export them to only other EU countries. Even though there is a single market in place, what additional regulations must I comply with? If the food product has successfully be allowed into the UK, do I have to gain additional approve from every other EU state that I want to export to? Also, would I be applicable to local taxes?
In advance, thank you so much for any help.
Answer
Hi
If you import them and pay all duties and taxes in the UK, you will also be subject to port heath controls each port has one usuaully operated by the local authority under the higher control of DEFRA and the EU
