How to join trade commissions of each country for international export

Question

I am just starting up a seafood distribution company whereby I could be exporting live seafood to anywhere in the world. I am trying to find out they best way I can join the trade commission list in each country we may do business with (starting with the biggest markets), so we are able to ship to them. I have been on the Gov.uk website, but I cannot find contact details for each country, so I can contact them directly.

Any help would be much appreciated

Regards
Alex

Answer

Hi Alex,

Greetings from the British Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia. The BMCC provides support on the ground for UK exporters. One of the most practical services we offer UK companies is the Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) which will establish:

• the likelihood of your company’s success in Malaysia and market entry strategies
• advice on local conditions, including competitors, regulations and standards
• identify your potential partners/customers/distributors/agents etc.
• arrange appointments with your selected partners
• manage all appointments during your representative’s visit to Malaysia

If Malaysia is on your radar for export, please do not hesitate to contact me directly on Email: [email protected] or Tel: 020 7438 2025.

Answer

Hi there, Alex!

Hope you’re doing well.

I am Patricia and I work for the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP).

?You can actually get in touch with different Chambers or local trade agencies in countries that you would want to export. Our Chamber in particular, can help you join a Trade Mission in the Philippines scheduled in October or November this year. We are also in close partnership with UKTI Manila that has slated several in-market visits for 2015.

Our Headstart services are delivered in line with UKTI standards, whom we work closely with. We help exporter understand the market better, arrange market visit, meet potential partners/ distributors and arrange events to help them promote their product/ services (i.e. product launch). We also organise Trade Missions.?

Please let me know if you require any further information or if you have any specific questions. We will be delighted to assist you.

Kind regards,

Patricia De Mesa
