Help starting export of Scotch to emerging markets

Hello there,

We would like to diversify into exporting scotch, primarily to emerging markets.

We are looking to sell to markets in kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and other african countries. Our strategy is fairly simple – we are looking to develop a brand that will not be very expensive and accessible for middle income earners. For the richer clientele we are looking to simply export established brands.

This is a fiercely competitive field so the key thing to do first of all is to match up your resources (time, personnel, finances etc) with the most appropriate target market for your company. There are many export markets that are large consumers of scotch but the key thing to do is identify which ones are most attractive to your individual company and then create and implement a strategy for the top priority markets.
