Finding distributors

Question

How do I go about finding companies already distributing products and services to the educational sector to take on our range of British made interactive educational technology?

Answer

Dear Christopher,

Thank you for your question. I’ve brought it to the attention of my colleagues in India. The commercial officer who leads on Education is Sunita Kapoor in New Delhi. Please let me know if you would like her contact details. It may also be worth discussing this with your local International Trade Adviser in London. James Harding covers the education sector. I can provide you with his contact details if you want.

A good way of finding potential distributors in a market is attending a trade show out there. 4th Worlddidac India 2012 is taking place in New Delhi 19th – 21st September. BESA are organising a UK pavilion at this event and there are a limited number of grants available to eligible UK companies.

Please see this attached link for more details. http://www.ukti.gov.uk/export/event/273880.html

Please let me know if there are any other markets you are interested in besides India and I’ll get in touch with the appropriate overseas colleagues.

Kind Regards,

Jennie Rich

Answer

Thank you for taking the time to answer this question. Your advice and guidence is appreciated.

Answer

Dear Christopher
Further to Jennie’s response, I will be happy to send you off-the-shelf details of some existing distributors of education technology products. For any further inputs that you may need, you could use our OMIS service whereby we will research the market for you to identify those Indian companies who may be keen to represent you in the market. Your ITA in London, James Harding can provide you with further details of UKTI’s OMIS service and also help you commission it.
If you plan a visit around Worlddidac India (19th – 21st September), you could meet with current suppliers of education technology.
I will shortly send you names of some existing distribtuors of education technology products.
Regards
Sunita Kapoor, UKTI, India
