Exporting from Ghana

Question

I have some products I’d like to export from Ghana to England via freight but don’t seem to be having much luck getting quotes. Can anyone suggest a company that is able to help? Thanks

Answer

Hello
Not sure why you would be being refused quotes. What products are you trying to import to UK?

Are you considering seafreight or airfreight?

Answer

Hi Susan

Thanks for the reply. I’d trying to import sheabutter. It’s 500kilos so will probably take one pallet. I want to use sea freight from Ghana to tilbury but trying to make contact with reliable companies seems to be very difficult and frustrating.

Any advice?

Thanks

Mark

Answer

Hello,
Try looking at companies on the bifa.org web site. You may find some on their members list that specifically deal with Ghana. BIFA is the trade association for freight agents in the UK and their members have to meet certain standards of competence etc. in order to belong to the Association.

If you only have one pallet you might also obtain some airfreight quotes. You might be surprised!

If your cargo requires refrigeration or cool temperature or freezing don’t forget to mention that.

Susan
