Export documents for shipments to Egypt?
Question
What are the required documents to export goods to Egypt?
Thank you.
Answer
Hi,
In our experience a commercial invoice, possibly a packing list, you may be asked to provide a Certificate of Origin but take advice from the customer or importer. You will also need to make an export declaration to HMRC.
You can apply online to your local chamber of commerce for the certificate of origin at www.e-zcert.com – there is a list of chambers if you’re not sure.
You can produce international standard export documents using e-z Consign from www.4-exim.com and make the customs declaration at the same time.
Drop me a line for further information or you might want to use your local UKTI team (based in Bristol I think) or read the European Market Access Database here http://madb.europa.eu/madb/datasetPreviewFormIFpubli.htm?datacat_id=IF&from=publi as this contains a breakdown of the requirements per country.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Ian.
Answer
Information on the Customs requirements for exporting is given in HMRC Public Notice 275. All notices can be found on our website:
www.hmrc.gov.uk under Quick Links > Library > Official Statistics – Publications – Notices, Info Sheets & Other Reference Materials > Import, Export & International Trade.
The Public Notices are in numerical order.
I would also suggest that you contact the Egyptian Customs Authorities to ascertain if there are any import restrictions on such items.
