Export Advice & Grants/Funding for exporting to Canada

Question

Hi

I own a small jewellery business. I have had a discussion with someone who would like to franchise my business in Canada. I have no idea where to start! Would anyone be able to let me know where to go and who to speak to so that I can get the ball rolling.

Also, would there be any grants or funding available for me?

Many thanks
Katherine

Answer

Hi

One organisation who may be able to help in many of the areas you raise is the UK Fashion and Textile Association http://www.ukft.org

Ask for Paul Alger or Laurian Davies

Happy for you to mention my name!

Good luck in promoting UK style and design in a beautiful way

Answer

Hi Katherine

We provide legal support to businesses that wish to franchise, and work with clients that are trading internationally. Please visit our website to learn more at -www.mybusinesscounsel.com.

I also strongly recommend that you link with your local UKTI International Trade Advisor as he/she will be a great source for information, as well as a contact that can advise on funding assistance available to companies that wish to export.

Please also do look at UKFT too as Howard suggests above.
