EUR1 to Mexico
Question
Hi,
I have my first EUR1 and require some guidance.
Will we still require a Certificate of Origin along with the EUR1 ?
Are our manufactured products classed as wholly originating if non originating materials are less than 20 % of Ex works price.?
Do I still need to obtain suppliers declaration if less than 20 %?
Any help will be gratefully received.
Answer
Hi Paul,
To answer your questions..
1) You shouldn’t require a Certificate of Origin in addition to the EUR1 but your consignee may request one and so both documents could be part of the same application to the chamber of commerce.
2) Without knowing the tariff code of your products I cannot answer fully. If you look at Notice 828 available from the HMRC website this should clarify for you.
3) There is no proof required from suppliers, if the goods qualify then the statement made on page 4 of the EUR1 is the only requirement.
I believe you already have an e-z Cert account (www.e-zcert.com) with your local Chamber of Commerce to be able to apply online for the EUR1 and/or Certificate of Origin. You just need to renew your Formal Undertaking for the account to be re-activated.
Drop me a line if we can be any further assistance, either with certified export documents, non-certified export documents or declarations to HMRC for exporters within or outside of the EU.
Kind regards,
Ian James
