Dropshipping from China to US customers.

Question

Hi all,

I am dropshipping to US customers from Chinese factories via AliExpress and I am unsure as to what taxes are involved.

I know you know how this works but just to be clear on the process:

1) A customer in the US orders the product online through my website (which is registered here in the UK).

2) The order is passed to the supplier in China who delivers the product directly to the customer in the US. The product never arrives with me in the UK.

What taxes (VAT, Import etc…) do I have to pay? Are there any US taxes that you know of or should I ask a US authority too?
