Defence products export licensing

Question

I am working with a defence company in India to design a new electronic time fuze for mortars. This will involve exporting some circuit design, software and a small amount of hardware and some IPR. I would like help applying for the licences but don’t know where to go to get it.

Answer

Hi there,

I hope you get an answer to your question shortly.

In the meantime, I recommend also looking at the Institute of Export and International Trade’s helpdesk for more specific advice:

Answer

Hi,

We could help you with the IPR element (now called IP or Inward Processing).  We have a module that managed your stock, deferment dates, declaration of movements to HMRC (BOD1 form) and the electronic declarations to HMRC for movements of goods.  Drop us a line if that would be of interest.

We already support companies in the defence sector so would be able to connect you to export staff experienced in export licences.

Kind regards,
