UKTI helps VoteMyLink to promote its social news site in Europe

VoteMyLink is an online platform that allows people to post links to web content and invite feedback, as well as voting on links posted by other people.

In early 2013, the company’s founders decided to actively target Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) as a large class of potential users. The initial response was very positive, and a launch event inside the European Parliament in Brussels was planned to let the MEPs know what VoteMyLink is all about.

The Brussels team of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) was on hand to support the launch, which was attended by over 100 people. It was a great success. Since then, VoteMyLink has decided to focus on the political arena and is currently working to develop a new version of the platform specifically tailored to this user group.

“As we planned our event for the MEPs, UKTI’s team in Brussels were incredibly helpful,” says Beverley Eve, Co-Founder of VoteMyLink. “They identified and brought in guests that we couldn’t have attracted on our own. We were proud to have UKTI involved in our launch and delighted with the added value that came with it. Having UKTI beside us gave us confidence.”
