Amidst the turmoil and uncertainty of Middle East markets which shows little sign of abating, Saudi Arabia stands out as a paradigm of peace, stability, prosperity and continuity. Oil prices are fluctuating, but remain comfortably above $100 a barrel and the Kingdom has huge budgetary resources to proceed with expanding infrastructure, building new cities and modernising airports and other key installations. Projects that are attracting special attention at the moment are the new metro lines in Riyadh, Jeddah and Mecca and the new mineral processing and integrated fertiliser plants at Ras Al Khair in the north east of the country. There are many more.

UK exports in goods to Saudi Arabia in 2012 were worth £3.3 bn; January to May 2013, they showed a spectacular increase of 28% over the same period last year.  The potential of the Saudi market for British goods and services and the high regard in which the quality of our products is held, cannot be overstated. The MEA takes two missions a year to the Kingdom and has an extensive knowledge and experience of how to conduct business there.
