Kenya – Consultancy Services for Supervision of Construction of Storm water Drainage Works

The government of Kenya intends to apply part of proceeds received from International Development Agency towards the cost of payments under Provision of Consultancy Services for Supervision of Construction of Storm water Drainage Works.

The Government of Kenya has received a credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Kenya Municipal Program (KMP) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under Provision of Consultancy Services for Supervision of Construction of Storm water Drainage Works in:

 (i)      Kakamega Town: MLHUD/KMP/COMP3/SWD/03 Kakamega

(ii)     Nakuru Town:    MLHUD/KMP/COMP3/SWD/04 Nakuru

(iii)    NaivashaTown:   MLHUD/KMP/COMP3/SWD/05 Naivasha

(iv)    Garissa Town:    MLHUD/KMP/COMP3/SWD/06 Garissa

(v)     Kitui Town:        MLHUD/KMP/COMP3/SWD/07 Kitui

(vi)    Malindi Town:    MLHUD/KMP/COMP3/SWD/08 Malindi

(vii)   EmbuTown:      MLHUD/KMP/COMP3/SWD/09Embu

(viii)   Machakos Town: MLHUD/KMP/COMP3/SWD/10 Machakos

The scope of services will include:

i.       To fulfill the role of the Engineer’s Representative in the supervision of the construction works;

ii.      To provide a detailed review of the design, the design investigations, the design assumptions and calculations and the design records, together with the contract documents, such that the review consultant shall be fully conversant with the design and the contract documents, all prior to construction commencing;

iii.     To supervise, in accordance with the contract document -conditions of contract, design, specifications and drawings, while at all times ensuring quality, cost effectiveness, environmental compliance and timely completion.

iv.      To provide the Client with regular status reports and other reports as per the Terms of Reference, together with all related necessary technical assistance and professional advice related to supervision of the construction of the said works.

The works to be supervised shall include but not limited to construction of new drains and drainage structures and associated works. Specific details for each Town are as below:

(i)    Kakamega Town:- Approximately 7 km storm water drainage facilities with estimated to be completed within 29 months (Design Review and Construction-16. Defects Liability Period and final report-13 months)

(ii)   Nakuru Town :- Approximately 42 km storm water drainage facilities with estimated to be completed within 32 months (Design Review and Construction-19, Defects Liability Period and final report-13 months)

(iii)  NaivashaTown: – Approximately 14 km storm water drainage facilities with estimated to be completed within 29 months (Design Review and Construction-16, Defects Liability Period and final report-13 months)

(iv)   Garissa Town:- Approximately 10 km storm water drainage facilities with estimated to be completed within 29 months (Design Review and Construction-16, Defects Liability Period and final report-13 months)

(v)    Kitui Town::- Approximately 8 km storm water drainage facilities with estimated to be completed within 29 months (Design Review and Construction-16, Defects Liability Period and final report-13 months)

(vi)   Malindi Town: – Approximately 18 km storm water drainage facilities with estimated to be completed within 32 months (Design Review and Construction-19, Defects Liability Period and final report-13 months)

(vii)     Embu Town: – Approximately 5 km storm water drainage facilities with estimated to be completed within 29 months (Design Review and Construction-16, Defects Liability Period and final report-13 months)

(viii)Machakos Town: – Approximately 11 km storm water drainage facilities with estimated to be completed within 29 months (Design Review and Construction-16, Defects Liability Period and final report-13 months)
