On 7th September the Japanese capital won the right to host the 2020 Olympic Games, with analysts predicting a £19 billion – £63 billion boost to the regional economy.
Large scale infrastructure investment projects centred on staging the 2020 games and a surge in visitor numbers before, during and after the 125th IOC session are forecast to be the main drivers of growth for the 35 million strong metropolis.
Mark Hofman, a European Trade Adviser at Enterprise Europe Network said: “We know from our own experience of hosting the 2012 games the economic benefit the Olympics represented to London and the UK as a whole.”
“Despite being an advanced market, Japan signifies major opportunities for UK businesses now and in the future, with the games a key driver for brighter economic prospects.”
The wide-ranging webinar series will begin in early December with topics including entry strategies, starting – up, what you should know, challenges, why Japan, IPR, culture, investment opportunities and many more sector specific sessions.
