How to make the most of International Trade Shows

Taking a stand at an international trade show is one of the best ways for exporters of all sizes to make contacts and grow their business and taking a stand in a British pavilion is one way to make sure you really stand out. The UKTI TAP programme offers significant grants to new SME exhibitors of up to £3,000 for first time participants in high growth markets.

Small pod stand options are available to help first time exhibitors keep costs to a minimum.  With someone to take care of all the logistics and a strongly branded stand at the show, choosing to exhibit in a pavilion leaves you free to concentrate on promoting yourself and not worrying about the lights on your stand!

As well as your stand and strong national branding, most shows include trade networking opportunities and those in new markets include visits to supermarkets too.  One of the hidden but most rewarding benefits is getting to know fellow exporters and sharing their insights and market knowledge – priceless information and with so many well established exporters regularly joining British group stands at key shows, you will soon build an excellent network of contacts.

There are a wide range of shows to choose from, including large multi-product international shows, market-focused shows in the high growth markets and sector shows for categories such as organic, private label, confectionery and seafood.  If you need help deciding what would work best for you, contact your local ITA or speak to UKTI’s partners in the food and drink sector: PS8  – the event delivery partner of the Food & Drink Exporters Association – [email protected]
