UK Trade & Investment met only once with Kelly Edwards Skincare. More than 10 months later, UKTI remembered Kelly and her company when Singapore distributor Glamogirl was looking for fresh UK brands.

Welsh company Kelly Edwards Skincare develops and produces natural skin and beauty products that are high in anti-oxidants and sourced almost exclusively from plant life. The company began to consider breaking into markets in the Far East, where consumers were becoming more aware of organic skincare products. In June 2011, Kelly met with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) in Singapore, to see how they could help. Not yet ready to use UKTI’s support, she left her details on file.

Ten months later, Kelly received an email from Glamogirl. The Singapore-based company had approached UKTI for help in finding a new range of products to promote and distribute locally. UKTI remembered its meeting with Kelly and recommended that Glamogirl get in touch with her.

Deciding to work together, Kelly flew again to Singapore in October 2012, to train the Glamogirl team, and present at a press launch organised by the Singaporean company.
