Anne Williams – (MMRS) – North West
Anne Williams is a full member of the Market Research Society and Chartered Institute of Marketing and comes to us, having run her own research and Marketing Consultancy.
Anne has extensive experience in market research in the UK providing consultancy services to major public sector services, lead consultant of the postal service internal policy review and pricing research of business services and products within associated subsidiaries. Five years experience in the banking and financial services sector in the USA specializing on projects in competitive analysis, market development, new product development, pricing research and customer satisfaction studies.
Clive Hogan – (CMRS) – South East, South West Wales and Scotland
Since joining the scheme in 2004, Clive has advised firms how to develop a market entry strategy prior to entering a new overseas market. This has led to significantly greater export sales and greater confidence in exporting and his easy-to-use, one-page research checklists for export markets have proved popular. Advising companies from Inverness to St. Ives has given Clive a unique understanding of how to help SMEs research export markets from Austria to Zimbabwe.
Clive started out as a Marconi Avionics engineering student at Airport Works, Rochester and then moved into industrial market research working at BSRIA in Bracknell where he achieved Full Membership of the Market Research Society in 1998
Julian Bridgewater – (MMRS) – London
Julian has a Master’s Degree from Manchester School of Management in Organisational Psychology; he has 15 years research experience including international work in Europe and Asia. He has focused on projects in the finance, telecoms, and Public sectors, and consulted to Board level for a number of blue chip clients. His core specialisms are financial, and business to business research. Julian has worked in South Korea as a business trainer and has extensive experience in exports having worked with Farnell and with Procter & Gamble. He has provided export research and strategic consultancy for over 300 SMEs in the London area, leading to more than 150 successful pieces of in-country research, covering every major global market
Alice Mamier – (MMRS) – East of England
Alice has been with the Export Marketing Research Scheme for 4 years and brings a wealth of research experience from both the UK and international markets. She worked for a number of years in the media and financial sectors, as well as at leading international research agencies, where she conducted projects for clients ranging from SMEs through to global blue chip companies. At MTV Europe, she was responsible for the commissioning and analysis of continuous and ad-hoc research, and the development of actionable insights to inform MTV’s strategy across European and developing markets. Prior to this she was media researcher/planner for key international accounts at J. Walter Thompson in the Czech & Slovak Republics, as the agency sought to gain its first foothold after the Velvet Revolution. Alice is an Associate Member of the Market Research Society
Kerry Stagg – (MMRS) – South West
Kerry Stagg has over 18 years experience in market research, and competitor and market intelligence, and is a member of the Market Research Society. She has a strong retail background having worked for Boots the Chemist and more recently the UK food retailer Somerfield where she was Head of Strategy Planning and Consumer Insight. In addition to this client-side experience, Kerry has also worked agency-side for companies that specialise in working with SMEs, Chambers of Commerce, and market entry strategy. Kerry has a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Essex
Richard Gilbert – (MMRS) – North East, Yorkshire and Humber and Northern Ireland
Richard has worked with international market research agencies, where he managed a broad range of projects for large multinationals and SMEs. Prior to this he set up and managed the Thailand office of an industry training consultancy, servicing South East Asia for an Australian University
Julie Macken AMRS – No allocated region
Julie Macken comes to us with first-hand experience of working with SMEs as a trainer, a coach and a market researcher. Julie says she is passionate about marketing and market research and believes these to be the bedrock of a sound and sustainable business. Over the last eight years, Julie has developed her own marketing consultancy company; her international experience stems from five years as New Product Development Manager at Unilever, then as an OTC brand manager for a pharmaceutical company.
Gary Blackburn MMRS – East Midlands
Gary comes to us with wide-ranging experience in the supply side of international market research, having worked as an Associate Director with Optimisa Research undertaking qualitative research, focus groups, depth interviews and project management and as a Research Manager at GfK-NOP where he conducted research looking at business opportunities for Nokia in Europe, Japan, China and Singapore. He started his career researching overseas markets for SMEs in the North East with Regional Technology Centre’s ERDF project. More recently he has been lecturing at the University of Leeds in International Politics.
Frances Long MMRS – West Midlands
Frances joins us from a Client Director position within a market research agency where she was conducting international research within Europe for automotive, mobile, transport, healthcare, food and agribusiness sectors. Frances developed, monitored and delivered training materials for a number of new shopper research tools involving neuroscience quantitative techniques such as facial coding, eye-tracking and intuitive associations. Prior to this, Frances was with a small UK company exporting equipment for the rubber plastics industry and also worked with a small software company.
