East London – Gateway to Export

I have seen the phoenix rise from the ashes with grim facades at Stratford turn out to be covered by the Olympic banner. This regeneration now makes East London the Gateway to Export.

However much the gains, there is great potential because East London is still a western frontier. The Legacy of the 2012 Olympics in Newham, which has been further developed by the London Legacy Development Corporation, has given a regeneration boost to business. The prime benefits has been the establishment of the following;

» Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is at the heart of a new east London – one where diversity and cultural vibrancy meet economic growth. That means helping to develop a dynamic new heart for east London, creating opportunities for local people and driving innovation and growth across the city and the UK.

» Here East is a place of making, set in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, on the fringe of Hackney Wick. It is the first place of its kind, a destination for the innovative business and maker community.

» Royal Docks Enterprise Zone London’s next business district, creating a centre for global trade, with thousands of jobs and new homes Global trade: In May 2013, the Mayor of London announced a £1bn deal with Chinese firm Advanced Business Parks (ABP) to create a trade hub for Asian businesses to invest in the UK.

Based in East London, the Export Club works with government and commercial partners to support and develop International trade. This initiative will include stake-holder engagement with Newham Council, UK Trade & Investment, Institute of Export and UK Export Finance.

The Export Club is non-profit and based in the East London Area, and operates across East London and Essex. It has been established as a business to business forum. The Club has registered Growth Accelerator Coaches,on the Government “Business Growth Service”, to provide support.
