Doing Business in Yemen

Advice on how to obtain information on doing business in Yemen.

Due to the ongoing political unrest in Yemen, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) advises companies to exercise great care in pursuing business opportunities in the country, with due regard to the UK’s export licensing regime and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s Travel Advice.

In view of the current situation, UKTI’s Business Opportunities service has been suspended until further notice, and general information about the market, now overtaken by events, removed from this website.

While Yemen is the poorest country in the Middle East, the presence of oil, gas and mineral deposits, the amount of development aid flowing into the country and the unequal distribution of wealth amongst the population mean that commercial opportunities exist.
