Doing business in Croatia

Croatia, Emerging Europe’s little gem, is located at the heart of Central Europe and offers a wide range of opportunities.

Croatia became the 28th member of the European Union on July 1st 2013. Large and continuing investment in almost all areas of infrastructure, and its planning, will characterise not just Croatia, but most of the countries in this region.

Croatia is located at the heart of Central Europe and borders with Slovenia, Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. The country represents a promising market for UK companies with good regional air, road and rail linkages and a skilled workforce.

What are the opportunities?

The structure of the Croatian economy is dominated by the service sector, primarily because of a very well developed tourism industry. Opportunities exist for UK companies in a wide range of sectors and UK exports continue to grow year on year.

The country will also benefit from significant investments into the infrastructure, energy and urban regeneration projects, many funded by EU structural and cohesion funds, which will open up opportunities across a wide range of sectors.
