Dairy Crest report GREAT Results from South Korea Mission

Dairy Crest is the largest British dairy company, processing milk and manufacturing everyday household brands including Cathedral City, Clover, Country Life and FRijj flavoured milk. This March, the company applied to attend the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) GREAT Week South Korea to further their export potential along with 45 other companies.

Tom Bartram, National Account Executive represented the company in South Korea “to meet a number of prospective trading partners to develop our business and meet our existing major customer to secure some new business.” Attending the GREAT Week helped to “widen my business network, completing store visits to understand more about the market and meeting numerous potential new trading partners to expand the business & consumer reach of our brands”.

As a result “I completed nine customer meetings with five of those progressing into commercial discussions. I also reached agreement to launch up to five new products with our existing customer subject to the commercials being sound for both parties.” This is a resounding success and Tom stated “I would contemplate attending similar UKTI events if there was sufficient evidence to be able to launch in new markets.”

GREAT Weeks is a programme of trade missions from the UK for the creative, retail, luxury, food and drink sectors. Organised by UK Trade & Investment in collaboration with industry experts in some of the world’s fastest growing markets, GREAT Weeks equip British businesses with the support they need to export overseas. Attendees benefit from gaining access to key decision makers, major buyers and potential partners in a range of countries. Each visit allows UK companies to build long term relationships and engage in high-level discussions. GREAT Weeks also run in parallel within high-profile events in the region, such as fashion shows or festivals.
