Conveyors Will Bring Efficiency in the Distribution of Your Goods ready for Export

Running a successful exportation business involves keeping a flow of products from the production shelf to packaging, loading onto trucks, taken to the port or Air ports for distribution and further still to the countries around the world you are doing business with.

The system boils down to the fact that you will have products to move quickly from point A to point B. If you are currently doing this with fork lift trucks or manual labour from your work force a conveyor system will benefit your operation in many ways. There are many different systems but a roller conveyor would be ideal for quickly and smoothly moving boxes and pallets of products ready to be loaded onto the trucks and out the door.

The main aim for your warehouse is speed and efficiency and roller conveyors are very easy to use and keep working well increasing your productivity and turn over with relative ease. There are many different types of roller conveyors to choose from depending on what kind of system is needed in each specific case. I am a Freight operator for FCL Global and learned about the conveyor systems that would benefit me and my customers product distribution centres. I spoke with Conveyor System Ltd, conveyor business professionals based in Derbyshire these are the 3 types recommended for quick distribution for my products.

Gravity Conveyors

Gravity conveyors are extremely easy to work with and use “gravity” as their main power source with no need for electricity. This type of roller conveyor is the most economical especially for smaller scale companies on a budget.

This conveyor is simple to be configured and can cover any shape or distance. They can have segments added over time as your business needs grows and are versatile enough to be used in conjunction with other systems even ones that require an electrical power source. They are ideal to quickly set up and get product distribution to operate smoother, faster and out to the market safely.

Accumulation Conveyors

Accumulation Conveyors

Accumulation conveyors help cut back on manpower as well as operator errors leading to big mistakes that can cost a company a lot of money. With accumulation systems, there are several chutes that lead to a main line or conveyor belt. These chutes have doors and sensors that hold product until a  predetermined release time or amount. This is ideal for shipping to multiple locations or changing from one product to another on the same production and distribution lines.

There are adjustments that can be made so that product does not get damaged by boxes piling up against each other while waiting in the chutes to be  released. As with most conveyor systems, the roller conveyor can be changed and adapted to suit your specific business needs.

Positively Driven Roller Conveyor

Positively Driven Roller Conveyor

The positively driven roller conveyor allows for much more flexibility and control over functions as your product or packing materials travel from one point to another. Systems such as this are ideal for moving lightweight and fragile items that need to be handled with care. Completely automated systems often do not provide the special handling that is required in distribution and shipping.

Systems that allow for partial or full control because of simplicity of design and lack of computer driven parts are easy to care for and require little to no technical skills to repair and can be cleaned easily to ensure that product stays clean and free of contamination.

Use a roller conveyor to move product off of a truck and into stores or warehouses and you will greatly reduce the amount of injuries and workman’s compensation claims. Conveyors allow you to move a variety of different materials of all shapes and weights without requiring heavy lifting or carrying of  objects that could become damaged or destroyed due to human error.
