Where to find new customers overseas

Question posted by Pradeep Thavaravi, on behalf of Tea Origins Ltd in HA1

We are a UK exporter of Pure Ceylon (Sri Lankan) Black and Green Teas and are experts in Bulk, Tea Bags, Private Labelling Teas. We are looking to connect with new customers overseas.

What should our first steps be? How can we connect with new customers? Which markets would have the most demand for my products?

Your guidance is appreciated

Dear Pradeep,

You'll first have to identify your target segment and decide your marketing strategy accodingly. Are you looking to sell your products to hotels/premium malls/food & grocery stores?

The best option would to be identify an Indian importer who deals with tea and are selling to the above channels. UKTI can help you with a warmed up list of relevant contacts at hotels, malls, food & grocery stores and importers.

Thanks,
Dipankar

Dear Pradeep,

You may also find it beneficial to join your local chamber of commerce or a British Chamber of Commerce overseas. Both offer a range of support services to UK companies looking to export and have lots of resources available to you to help you to identify the most appropriate markets and develop your export strategy

Jennifer
