Temporary export of goods for evaluation

Question

We are shipping IT equipment to Jakarta for a 6 x month evaluation period after which the kit will return.

We have been informed that there is no ATA Carnet option for Indonesia and we need to know what is required in terms of monies in duties/taxes plus shipping documentation in order to acheive this??

Answer

Hi Dave,

Very simple answer to this we do this all the time as a freight forwarder to that part of the World.
We send the goods out under OPR (Outward Process Relief), so long as the goods are returned within 12 Months and NOTHING has been added or taken off the equipment you will not pay Duty.
We have a few clients doing the same thing, we look after all the entries to HMRC so all you need to do is issue a commercial Invoice / Packing List we do the rest.
