Starting in Export - Need training

Question posted by a user. (This user chose not to share their profile)

Hi,
I have just started in a new job including import and export. The company already exports via freight company but I need to arrange some basic training for myself to ascertain that paperwork is completed correctly.
I haven't been able to identify a training course that seems suitable. Please can you suggest seminar/workshop in London area which I could attend.
Thanks

Hello, Glad to hear that you are embarking on a new career in import and export.
Supported by the UKTI and RBCC, we host a series of breakfast workshops across the country. Short but compact with the opportunity to pick the brains of industry experts in Freight, Certification, Distribution, Travel and Visas etc.

There is also cross cultural training available at the end of the workshop, which will allow you to understand better how to deal with overseas business and trading partners, and to make sure that nothing is misunderstood by cultural differences and nuances.

Give me a ring on 01732 783 555 and we can talk about your requirements and see if this workshop would suit you.
James.

Lyn Palmer, on behalf of Business West in BS8.

Hello there
There are many training courses available to you some of which are shown in the previous answers. We do have online interactive training in Methods of Payments and Letters of Credit on the Acorn Interactive site ( www.acorninteractive.co.uk) However if you would prefer to attend a course then almost all Chambers of Commerce run good Beginning in Export courses.
Also check out the Acorn Interactive site as there is a huge amount of really useful information and tools available there. You dont even have to register to access the information although if you use the services on the site you will need to register.
Good luck going forward
