If one is exporting to the US the first thing to do is to look at UKTI US and I believe that the
Director General for the US is Danny Lopez you can follow him on twitter @DannyLopez_UK.
The next thing to do is to register with the US FDA Registration www.registrarcorp.com there offices in Europe are in France but you will have to check to see if they have an e-mail or website.
The next thing to do is to register with your local Chamber of Commerce or Trade Office . They will give you or direct you to all the documents you will need depending on the products that you wish to send to the US.
Also if you look at HM Revenue and Customs there is a (Notice 275) which is the UK National Export System (NES) also the EU Export Control System (EUS) and the Exit Summary Declarations (EXS). My reason for suggesting this is to look to see what products are EU Free to the US what you can and cannot send as well as what is chargeable. I would usually leave about 20-25% allowance for anything that might occur on the Dollar Exchange Rate and other items where VAT is payable.
There is also an organisation called GALLET DREYER AND BERKEY LLP
Who offer all matter concerning exporting to the US, including all the Legal Documents you may require their e-mail is email@example.com and their telephone number is 212 935 3131.
I hope this is of some use, but again it depends on the coding of each product and what the rules are on the US FDA Registration.
As for storage there are various ways of storing in the US whether you want to lease out warehouse storage or other storage facilities again it is worth e-mailing GDB for information.
I hope this is of some use.
