Omis Incentive - I have used OMIS in Singapore in 2010/2011 can anyone clarify if I would be egligible to use this incentive for Turkey or other High Growth Market not previously visited?

Question posted by ANNE WILSON, on behalf of Numill Ltd in S6

I have experience of using OMIS & found them very productive. Turkey is a market recently mentioned to me. An incentive may help my business look at this sooner.

Hello Anne
As part of a wider programme of support being made available to UK companies, additional funding has been made available to encourage companies to use the Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) for the first time or consider a High Growth Market (HGM)
(i) All eligible companies using OMIS for the first time will receive a 50% discount up to maximum of £750 for one market (or OMIS region) regardless of which market or OMIS region is selected;
(ii) All eligible companies commissioning their first order in one of UKTI’s High Growth Markets or OMIS region containing a HGM will receive a 50% OMIS discount up to a maximum of £750. HGMS are: Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE and Vietnam.

As you have already had an OMIS for Singapore before, you won't be eligible for the discount - however I would suggest that you contact your local UKTI Team in Yorkshire, who may be able to offer other support: Tel: 0300 365 1000 or info@uktiyorkshire.co.uk.

Hope this helps,

Hi Anne
Tracy is right. As you have used OMIS before you would not be able to benefit from the discount offered to companies who have not used this service before. However you may be able to benefit from EMRS (Export Market Research Scheme) grant which would cover 50% of your cost of carrying out research in a new market for your company. Many UK companies have found this service very useful. Have a look at the following link below to see details and conditions :
