Looking To Start exporting second hand vehicles to Africa

Question posted by Nick fosh, on behalf of noname in SN1

Hello

I am a complete novice when it comes to export and I am being tasked by a family member to find out about the legislation and logistics involved in exporting vehicles to Namibia.

We are planning to buy specific vehicles and ship them 1 or 2 at a time and we need to know what info we require from customs both in the uk and in namibia.
I have researched the rules inregards to the dvla but customs has me stuck.

Any info you might be able provide me or websites detailing this info would be a great help.

Regards.

HMRC Advisor, on behalf of HM Revenue & Customs in G67.

Information on the Customs requirements for exporting is given in HMRC Public Notice 275. All notices can be found on our website www.hmrc.gov.uk under Quick Links > Library > Official Statistics – Publications – Notices, Info Sheets & Other Reference Materials > Import, Export & International Trade. The Public Notices are in numerical order.

I would also suggest that you contact the Namibian Customs Authorities to ascertain their import requirements.
