Some are free and some are at a charge.
In order to better address your needs, i need to know where are you based and if your turnover is less or more than £25M?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Dear Mohmed

Sally Barlass, on behalf of Transvalair Group in Gatwick.

There Mohmed

Thanks for asking the question and I hope you are well.
So I can provide you with the best answer, please can you provide the following information;
- How old are the cars?
- How long have they been owned and who currently owns them?
- Can you provide a recent MOT or service to confirm they are not going for scrap?
- Can they be delivered with next to no fuel and disconnected from the battery?

Lots of questions, but with the answers we will be able to provide you with all the information you need.

If there is anything else I can do for you please do not hesitate to contact me.

Many Thanks and Kind Regards

Sally @ Transvalair

Hi Mohmed,

Exporting used cars can be a bit of a challenge. If you want to ship the cars by sea freight I do recommend a company called Cutler Freight (Tel No. 0208 301 6626). The contacts are either Nigel Cutler or Alan Dance. They have extensive knowledge of shipping vehicles all over the world and can also help you with all the necessary export document requirements.

Chandru Iyer, on behalf of Kingston Smith LLP in EC1M.

Hi Mohmed,

As you rightly pointed out, this is quite a lucrative business and many people are working on this business model. http://cars4africa.co.uk/ is a good starting place for more detailed inputs on exporting cars to aftica.

One of our partners, who specialises in the african market, advises that even though the margins are very high, the high levels of custom duties doesnt makes it as lucrative as it sounds.

We will be happy to assist further on this.

warm regards

Chandru

Hello
UK Trade & Investment has offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town to help you with enquiries about South Africa.

As the last respondant noted, the custom (import) duties on used cars are high in South Africa and would need to be investigated thoroughly. For relevant contact details please send us an email at satrade@fco.gov.uk.
