I would like to connect with entertainment and Music/cultural PROMOTERS & PR professionals/PR agencies in Japan, China, USA interested in partnerships and creating a network

Question posted by Angelo Ridolfo, on behalf of glocalPR in SE19

For details please visit www.glocalpr.com

Tow main targets:

1) Offer global independent services of press office, media relations, networking (online and offline), PR / promotion and marketing in general for independent new artists, cultural and style operators/companies as well as popular ones, the important is the quality of the offer and the mood and attitude towards the network building that has to be laid-back but serious at the same time.
It would be good to start with artist/performers that are popular in their countries of origin willing to perform in other countries in a smaller scale and build audience and contacts.

2) Event production, live concerts and or other kind of live performances at a professional level.

I work with Italy and UK, I am based in London, I would like in particular to Export Italian artists and culture in other countries, so a link with the italian communities would be an advantage to start with.

thank you
Angelo Ridolfo

Roger Frampton, on behalf of ExportAction in Clearwater, Florida, USA.

Hi Angelo

I don't think our company (ExportAction) will be able to help you in the USA (the only market upon which we focus), but I do think a visit to our web site (www.exportaction.com) might be helpful for you. You might check out the entertainment category on our blog to see if there are any useful statistics there.

If you have any specific questions about marketing in the USA (still the world's largest, single-country market), please feel free to contact me and I will assist if I am able.

We do not charge for help of this kind and we do not employ sales executives so you will not receive lots of 'phone calls and emails pressing you for business.

Good luck.

Roger

PS We do know an attorney in the USA who specializes in the legal aspects of entertainer management if that is of any help to you.

Sue Marsden Gilpin, on behalf of UK Trade & Investment USA in United States.

Dear Angelo

You might want to initial start by checking out (or joining) the Council of Public Relations Firms in the US: http://prfirms.org/

Another idea is to contact US independent music record labels directly, to pitch your PR services. You can view a list of them here: http://www.record-labels-companies-guide.com/links-indie-record-cos.html

For additional US market information and contacts, you might want to speak with one of UK Trade & Investment's Trade Officers. In the US, we have a whole team focussing on the creative & media sector. Please feel free to email me, and I'd be happy to put you in touch with someone who can assist you.

You can also contact UKTI's China and Japan trade teams via email at the following addresses:

Dear Angelo

Thak you very much for your interest in the Japanese market.

1) In case of promoting Japanese artists in overseas market
There has been a trend that Japanese labels wish to export their artists to overseas market, under the scheme of "Cool Japan" and there may be some companies who are looking for PR partners in overseas. You may wish to visit this site (www.timmkt.jp/event/event-en.php), where you can find various ready to export artists as the first step.

2) If you would like to promote Italian artists/culture in japan
Institute Italiano di cultura di Tokyo (www.iictokyo.esteri.it) might be of your help.

If you require further information, please feel free to contact us.

Angelo

As mentioned by Brittany Banta (above), CBBC can help UK companies do business in China. We have a number of services which may be of interest, including help in researching partner companies in China. I would be happy to talk to your further about this.

I am not sure what type of music your are targetting, but - in my experience - other than classical musicians (eg Lang Lang, Li Yundi), Chinese artists focus strongly on the domestic/close regional market.

With regard to the Italian element of your question, it may be helpful to contact the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce: http://www.cameraitacina.com/index.php?nav0=101
