How do I classify my goods for export

Question posted by mike clery, on behalf of Thruput Ltd in BS30

We have sold an ATC screen record and replay system to Dubai Airport as safety and incident investigation tool.

How do I determine if this system requires a UK export licence?

thanks

Hi, the commodity code will give you some indication if the item is controlled, but what you probably need to know is if the item is on the controlled list and you should consult the UK Stratigic Export Control list (to identify the control list number / or rating) the following link may help..

If a licence is required you'll need to register to apply for one...and will need an end user undertaking from your customer....also bear in mind a licence can take 3 weeks.
