Has anyone recently exported to Bahrain – have you experienced any problems?

Question

We are considering a request to provide services in Bahrain and obviously are slightly nervous about the current unrest.

Answer

Hi Steve, thanks for your question. Currently our beta site is focused around providing content and responses around the US and Indian markets. We will be rolling out to other regions in the coming months.

However, we are currently in the process of engaging with both our service providers and companies testing the site to help with your query, and hope to have a response for you from them over the coming days.

Answer

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your question. Apologies for the delay in responding.

The best place for latest updates about the unrest in Bahrain and other countries are the travel advice pages on the Foriegn Office website.

There are a couple of options if you would like help and advice on doing business in Bahrain. I’ve passed on your query to my colleagues in the Commercial Section of the British Embassy in Manama. They will be in touch soon. You may also want to get in touch with the Bahrain Economic Development Board, www.Bahrainedb.com

Answer

Hi Steve

Further to the above replies, Bahrain remains a market of interest for many looking to enter the GCC market. It has great links to Saudi Arabia via the causeway and is within an hour’s flight to Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

I would reiterate James’ advice about checking our travel advice to Bahrain. There are currently no restrictions in place once here, but there can be sporadic demonstrations in certain (known) areas.

If you would like further information about doing business in Bahrain, please contact me directly on: [email protected]

Kind regards,
Heather.
