Has anyone exhibited at Index Trade show in Dubai?

Question posted by Kirath Ghundoo, on behalf of Kirath Ghundoo in DL1

Looking to export this year and I an aware of the UAE being a suitable market for my products.

Does anyone have experiences of showcasing here, regarding ROI.

Many Thanks

Hi Kirath,

If you are UK based, there is a trade association who orgainses a group presence for UK companies at Index. They may be able to help you to exhibit, and possibly facilitate a grant from UK Trade & Investment to help towards your stand costs. I suggest you contact them; they are the British Contract Furnishing Association.(http://www.thebcfa.com/event132.html ).

They would be well worth speaking to - ask for a lady called Sue Graves. At the very least, they should be able to put you in touch with other designers / companies who have exhibited, and you can get their feedback.

Hi Kirath,

My name is Melanie Rutherford and I'm the International Trade Team Co-ordinator for UK Trade & Investment, we do have funding available towards this particular exhibition, if it's ok with you I'll give you a call to discuss the funding process and hopefully we can arrange for one of our International Trade Advisers to come and establish your eligibility for the programme. As Mike mentioned, the trade organisation responsible for organising the group presence is the British Contract Furnishing Association, who we work closely with to provide support to exhibitors.

Best wishes

Melanie

Hi Kirath - only just seen your question and I hope I'm not too late!

I exhibited in 2008......the week the financial crisis hit Dubai.......so it's fair to say it was not a great success for anyone.

I know since then the organisers have really changed things around in terms of zoning and profiling so exhibitors are better presented with peers rather than being spread all over.

It remains the region's foremost interiors show and a great way to access contacts from the whole MENA region. It is very international.

Worth a look!

Regards
Joe
