Food & drink documentation to Switzerland & Norway

Question

Hi, Can anyone inform me if there are any documentations required for exporting food and drink to Switzerland and Norway? Do I need to be registered with the customs over in those countries or a registration number? Many thanks

Answer

Dear Malti

Your best bet is to first get confirmation from the relevant import authorities in Norway and Switzerland to establish the specific import conditions of the country. The UK Embassy for the region can provide further advice.

Please see information on UKTI’s page about trade with Norway including contact details of advisors: https://www.gov.uk/government/world/organisations/uk-trade-investment-norway

There is also a Norway trade and export guide online: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/exporting-to-norway

Similarly, please see the same for Switzerland:

Switzerland trade and export guide: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/exporting-to-switzerland/exporting-to-switzerland

We wish you all the best in your endeavours
