Finding a partner school in China

Question posted by Giulia Portuese-Williams , on behalf of La Dante in Cambridge in CB4

We offer English for students and professionals in Cambridge and would like to find a partner school in the smaller cities in China like Wuxi (still with 9million inhabitants). What is the best way to find who to partner with? Looking for Universities where English is taught as well as language schools.

Hi Giulia,

If you would like to commission an outside company, my company can definitely help. We would conduct searches of suitable companies in suitable cities and profile those that appear to have the "best fit" with your needs. If you like, we could also make initial contact to assess interest in a partnering arrangement. Do let me know.

Hello Glulia, Cambridge has a really valued reputation for English language training. The smaller cities in China would be a good target for you but they can be quite difficult to access. The easiest way is to try and meet incoming delegations of business people on trade visits to the UK

I am also from Cambridge and know quite a few of the facilitators of these types of inward visits and would be happy to share by email richard.wishart@del-mgt.com or over a coffee.

A lot of wealthier Chinese business people consider a UK English education vital for their children so I would also consider more general trade audience as well as the more specialised educational sector

The Global Trade Network might also be a good resource for you.

Good afternoon, Giulia - it strikes me that you could do a lot to narrow down your search by going through the embassies, both ours in China and theirs in London. If you would like to explore good angles for doing so, so get in touch. Jamie Athill

Giulia,
We run IPSEF, a business conference for international and private schools. It attracts people who own or run such schools, governments, and the supplies industry. Although we have one in London next week (one delegate from China) we also run it in Malaysia and attract schools / groups from across SE Asia. Our third one takes place in Dubai. Take a look at www.ipsef.net UKTI grants are available for UK SMEs attending these events. Get in touch if you need more help.
