We are a small UK manufacturing comopany in the automotive aftermarket sector. We have an International customer who wants us to deliver to their subsidiary in India, Our kit contains 1 item of our own UK manufacture, 1 from China & 1 from Taiwan.
The customer is paying the freight, but has asked us to find out what duty & tax will also be payable, so that they know what the total cost will be
Is it possible to find this out for our customer?
Hi There Elizabeth,
I hope you are well & thank you for asking the qustion.
To get you the most accurate information, please foward the invoice with the commodity codes to us, so we can then consult our Indian agent. We can then reply with all the details you need.

Information on the Customs requirements for exporting is given in HMRC Public Notice 275. All notices can be found on our website www.hmrc.gov.uk under Quick Links > Library > Official Statistics – Publications – Notices, Info Sheets & Other Reference Materials > Import, Export & International Trade. The Public Notices are in numerical order.
I would also suggest that you contact the Indian Customs Authorities to ascertain if there are any import restrictions and the rates of import duty on such items.
