Exporting timber to USA

Question

We currently have an order to export to the USA. We are unsure about the rules on exporting timber into the US. the USDA.gov website talks about exporting timber but mainly to do with the packaging materials, i.e like pallets, etc. We can get round this by using plastic pallets. However our product which is a portable mountain bike track system (see shoretrax.com) contains around 50% timber. We can not seem to get an definitive answer on what we need in terms of certification or treatment of the timber. It does mention about the timber having to be either heat or chemically treated. We are obviously concerned as this is our first order to the US and don’t want any issues at customs. Please help.
