Question

Good Day

I am in the process of starting a new venture exporting tyres from the U.K. in containers.
Are there any Customs and excise/Legal requirements I should be aware of, and any info on the documentation for containers would be welcome please.

My email address is; [email protected]

Thank you

Kind Regards

Answer

Hi John

Some Middle Eastern and African countries have strict controls on used or re-treaded tyres or they may be banned altogether .

I know that all used goods are banned in Saudi Arabia

Kenya they may only be imported by importers registered with the government
Tanzania – used tyres are banned whilst re -treads may only be imported by importers registered with the government

If you are sending to these regions and have any more questions please don’t hesitate to contact me

Kind regards

Answer

Information on the Customs requirements for exporting is given in HMRC Public Notice 275. All notices can be viewed on the GOV.UK website at www.gov.uk by typing ‘Notice 275’ in the search box and selecting the following links from the search results: > Notice 275 “Customs export procedures” a guide to UK export procedures using the National Export System.

Further detailed information regarding exporting goods outside the EU can be found by using the following linkhttps://www.gov.uk/exporting-goods-from-the-eu-to-a-third-country-outside-the-eu

I would also suggest that you contact the Customs Authorities in the importing countries to ascertain if there are any import restrictions on such items.
