Hi Jose, in my opinion the best place to start is with UKTI, who run a number of export related courses including Passport to Export. Its not totally free, but is designed to help companies new to export. It may depend how far down the line you are in terms of setting up your business, so you will need to contact them to check eligability. The UKTI website is also a useful source of information for exporters.

Dear Jose
Enterprise Europe Network east of England works in collaboration with UKTI to provide novice exporters with information and advice on exporting for the first time and we can also provide some support with enquiries relating to import.
As a first instance, I would invite you to visit our website and the sections on Exporting and importing where you can download guides we wrote. we also run jointly with UKTI a workshop called "exporting is it for me" every quarter in various locations in the region so if you register your interest I would be happy to let you of future dates in your area.
I hope this is useful. best wishes.
Mathilde

Dear Jose

UKTI is a good place to start for the basics. However I would advise that you consider taking some formal training if you are serious about exporting. Nothing costs a business more than making avoidable mistakes - and remember, you rarely get something for nothing in this life!

We, at the Institute of Export are the only UK professional membership body representing and supporting the interests of everyone involved in importing, exporting and international trade
.
We can give you help and support in the form of advice from our experienced members and have a range of accredited courses and qualifications in International Trade which can help ensure you do it the right way first time!

Please take a look at our website www.export.org.uk - and feel free to get in touch on 01733 404400

As a UKTI person I can only agree with the suggestions above! Our Passport to Export programme may indeed be suitable, if not now maybe soon. See http://www.ukti.gov.uk/pt_pt/export/howwehelp/passporttoexport.html
Enter your postcode on this page http://www.ukti.gov.uk/pt_pt/export.html to get contact details for UKTI in your region (we do have an office in Ipswich but you can get to them best through our central team).
The IoE (see above) and your local Chamber of Commerce will also offer training and further information.
