Country of Origin

Question posted by John Temple, on behalf of Tablecraft Ltd in NN18

We are supplying catering small-wares into EU. Our customer would like us to remove the Country of Origin from each product label. We have to provide a General Certificate of Compliance for Food Safety with all of our items, which contains the COO. My question is, do we have an obligation by law to label our items with the COO for sale of goods into EU?

John,
I am not sure what you mean by "catering small-wares" but if you follow this link it will take you to a very useful document from the Food Standards Agency on Country of Origin labelling.

I hope this helps.

Hi Richard,

thank you for the prompt response and direction.

Catering small-wares refer to utensils and items that come into contact with food for storage and presentation.

Kind regards
