Export Action Plan Finalists Announced!

On Wednesday 20th January Open to Export are hosting the 10 finalists from the Export Action Plan Competition for a day of judgement as a panel of international trade experts are tasked to decide who will be the winner of the inaugural competition.

The prize on offer is £3000 to implement the submitted export plans. The Export Action Plan tool was released by Open to Export in October and already hundreds of companies have started to use it. Businesses use this free-to-use online business planning tool to take ownership of their export strategies, taking decisions along each step of the export journey from selecting a market to delivering products or services to new customers.

You can read more about the Export Action Plan tool and competition on the Open to Export main site.

It is sure to be an exciting day as an eclectic bunch of businesses, including brewers, educational gift-makers, app makers and tool distributors battle it out to become the first Export Action Plan Competition winner. They will be judged by our very own Lesley Batchelor, besides Open to Export chairman Julian Hucker, Head of International at the International Festival for Business 2016 Chris Heyes, and Victoria Eggs – a small business owner whose exports have grown significantly since being a finalist at a previous Open to Export competition in 2013.

You can read more about the finalists and judges on the main site.

The competition is sponsored by the International Festival for Business 2016, HSBC and the Institute of Export – three companies dedicated to contributing to the UK economy by doing their bit to help more new and inexperienced exporters to thrive internationally.
