Aardman Animations had a GREAT Week

Bristol-based Aardman Animations, a world leader in model animation, was invited to participate in the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) GREAT Weeks outward mission to Mexico in November last year alongside nine other UK companies.

Alix Wiseman, Head of Sales and Acquisitions, joined the mission to gain a deeper understanding of the animation industry inMexico, expand Aardman’s business relationships and secure new partnerships in the territory.

Surprised by the scope and relevance of the introductions facilitated by UKTI, Alix made valuable contacts that she said would otherwise not have been possible. She described UKTI as “extremely supportive”, ensuring that she “met only appropriate contacts” from her field.

Alix said “Attending CutOut Fest, which formed part of the Great Weeks programme, had a big impact. I made a lot of progress in meetings with Televisa, Universal and Paramount in Mexico and am now working on securing a couple of deals which, if successful, could equate to significant revenues or media values for Aardman in the territory.”

Alix felt that the Great Week delivered on the promise to facilitate relevant and valuable introductions and valued the support offered post-event regarding new business ventures.
